I was amused to arrive for work the other day, to find two shoes standing to attention outside the Spirituality Centre, part of Moot's home. I have been thinking about it all week:
1. Was it a good piece of installation art - certainly made an impression on me.
2. Was it a sign of the rapture, because of course one of the lovely members of the Centre Staff were bound to be in the first wave at the consummation.
3. Did someone just loose their shoes and gave them to the church. Nice gesture but too small for me.
4. Could they not get in, and died waiting......
The list goes on, if you have any further witticisms then please do add to the comments.

Were they smoking slightly? Could have been zapped by a bolt of lightning.
I'm with Mike. Did they try and thieve something and God struck em down?
Do me and Mike have more suspicious minds than Ian??
Or were they just walking on by and a voice came out of the fire regulations sign and said, take off your shoes, you're standing on holy tarmac? unfortunate timing, given the current summer heat
or could it even be that the Spirituality Centre actually IS holy ground.. ?? :)
Spontaneous combustion?
Or the shoes walked there by themselves?
More evidence that the Holy Spirit really is female?
n our consumer society the shoes(jeans/trainers/hoody)seem to matter more to us than the person wearing them. Ironically, here, the one who wore the shoes, in their absence, matters more than the shoes which are present. There's a turnaround!
